Pallet Trucks- Make Loading And Unloading A Breeze

A pallet truck, also known as pallet jack or pump truck is a tool used to lift and move. The front wheels are mounted inside the end of the forks, and as the hydraulic is raised, the forks are separated vertically from the front wheels forcing the load upward until it clears the floor. The pallet is only lifted enough to clear the floor for subsequent travel.

Types of pallet trucks:

Manual: a manual pallet jack is hand powered. This category includes:

* Standard hand pallet trucks: This type is usually preferred and is always in demand.

* Special size and low profile hand pallet trucks: They cater to special needs and are very basic.

* Hand Pallet truck with brakes: there is a choice of two brake types “ bike” style hand brake (brake is applied    when trigger is pulled) or dead man brake ( brake is released when trigger is pulled)

* Stainless steel and Galvanized hand pallet trucks: It is used in corrosive environments, cold room and clean room application.

* 3 ton and 5 ton hand pallet trucks: they are heavy-duty pallet truck. Heavy-duty trucks are suitable for warehouse and general handling duties.

* Directional hand pallet trucks: This truck operates easily in four directions without complicated adjustments. It is perfect for carrying long loads along narrow aisles, awkward storage.

* Powered Pallets: These trucks are motorized to allow lifting, moving of heavier and stacked pallets. It usually contains a platform for the user to stand while hauling pallets around a warehouse or while loading and unloading trucks.
 
What size is needed?
 
There are three common sizes of hand pallet trucks:

* The printers truck: this is used in the printing industry and the trucks overall width from the outside of one fork to the outside of the other is 450mm. the standard length is 1000mm, however other lengths are also variable.

* Euro sized hand pallet trucks: this size fits a standard Euro pallet (800mmX 1200mm). The hand pallet truck overall width from the outside of the other is 540mm. the standard length is 100mm. If you are using the mixture of standard and Euro pallets, then choose Euro sized hand pallet trucks, as they will lift both types.

* UK hand pallet trucks: They fit pallet sized (1000mm X 1200mm). These pallets are commonly known as blue GKN chep pallets. The overall width from the outside of one fork to the outside of the other is 680mm. The standard length is 1000mm; however, other lengths are also available.
